The Particle Science Summer This highly successful program brings up to 40 national and international graduate students to PERC for a week to participate in several short courses, workshops and plenary lectures given by renowned faculty from around the globe. This international program fosters networking opportunities, collaborations and a global awareness of particle related opportunities and other issues.
Summer School in Winter is an exceptional opportunity for graduate students from across the world to participate in specialized modules taught by world-renowned experts. It is also an unparalleled occasion to network with other graduate students working in the field. This year students have the opportunity to select one module from 3 tracks to allow them to meet their specific training needs. Each module includes an instructor from industry to provide an industrial perspective of the topic. A highlight for student participants is the poster session in which they can share their research with the group. Students from past conferences have identified this as the most valuable feature of the week, as it provides students with a look at what others are researching and provides opportunities for future collaborations among participants.
To date, over 300 graduate students from 40 U.S. and 15 foreign institutions have taken advantage of this program. Each student participates in a poster session, a series of special topic seminars and may choose 1 of 3 specialized modules. There is ample time to encourage networking among this next-generation of PS&T researchers from around the world.
