Shulze Shear Cell

The Shulze Shear Cell tester is an annular direct shear cell capable of measuring the unconfined yield strength, effective angle of internal friction, internal angle of friction, and wall friction angle as functions of the solids contact pressures. These parameters can be used for material characterization as well as for generating information needed to design bins for bulk material with particle sizes less than 1/4-inch.
