Brij M. Moudgil

Dr. Moudgil

Brij M. Moudgil is a Distinguished Professor and Alumni Professor of Materials Science and Engineering at the University of Florida. Dr. Moudgil has been awarded 14 patents, and has edited 10 books. His research and professional leadership accomplishments are recognized by several major awards including his election to the National Academy of Engineering (NAE). See his vitae.

Brief Description of Current Research Interests

His current research interests are in the area of developing structure-property-performance correlations in particulate materials based nanoengineered systems for enhanced performance in bioimaging, diagnosis and therapies, micro-electronics, advanced materials, energy, and water purification applications. His additional research interests include developing nanoengineered particulate systems for photo-catalytic degradation of hazardous microbes, and nanotoxicity. Overall, a systematic attempt for design based synthesis of engineered particulate systems is the focus of his on-going research endeavors that requires the development of the structure-property-performance correlations.

Dr. Moudgil's Materials Science and Engineering PhD students have graduated with specialties in biomaterials, electronic materials, ceramics, metals and polymeric materials areas. He has also co-advised several Chemical Engineering PhD students. Several of his former graduate students, currently working with microelectronics, health care, materials & minerals, management consulting companies, and national laboratories have been recognized for their outstanding performance and professional contributions.
